WYSIWYG editing with structure-based navigation
Document can be edited similarly as in a WYSIWYG editor, but can be also be
easily viewed and navigated using different structural methods like by sections,
figures, tables, bibliography, comments and so on.
Collaborative editing
Multiple users can edit a document simultaneously, similar to Google Docs.
Changes made by each user is tracked a marked, so it is easy to see who did
what.
Content–PDF navigation
Document content and PDF output can be viewed side by side. Scrolling is synced
both way.
Validating the XML using Vtool
Vtool is integrated into Primo: Vtool report is shown in right panel, and
clicking on a Vtool warning will bring the relevant place in document into
view.
Change tracking
A convenient tracker of copy-editor made changes with choice to Reject/Accept the
changes is available.
Comments and queries
Queries and comments can be added to the document using corresponding tool in
the right sidebar. They allow clear and easy communication between authors and
copy-editors.
PDF output as per the journal template
At the end of the editing job or whenever they want, authors can generate a PDF
from their edited sources which is exactly like the one when finally printed in the
journal.
WYSIWYG and LaTeX Math editing
Math can be edited by using a WYSIWYG editor, or by editing LaTeX
sources.
Auto-renumbering
The numbering of section, equation, figure, table, etc. can be fully automated.
Author can also make manual changes if desired.
Cross-reference made easy
Cross-references have first-class support: users can simply select target from list of
available objects in a user-friendly way.
Miscellaneous feature
- Most common features in WYSIWYG editors are supported.
- PDF output has several modes: Web, Proof, Print. One special mode is Grid, which is very helpful for tuning layout.
